Designer Maryanne Mathias uses dye, screen printing, and quilted details to adapt clothing from occurrences within the realms of daily city life: the pattern a streetlight leaves on the ceiling in the night, and the way it changes when a car drives by; the water from dirty piles of melting snow gravitating towards gutters; moonlight shining through a tree with no leaves in the winter; the shadow cast by a wrought iron fence onto the sidewalk.
